2003 ford taurus when it rains water coming in lower front passenger side right under dash behind glove box. Could the windshield need resealed? Any other areas arounfd there I could check for leaks? Never had this issue on any vehicles. Not my car but trying to help out. Any thoughts appreciated
My '98 Ranger had that problem (among others...). Frankly the only option I was given was the replace the windshield - it absolutely was a leak in the windshield seal (the urethane backing not that piece of window dressing on the outside). Catch it fast before it corrodes your interior - like the seat belt hardware, floor, seat mounting hardware, etc...
I never bothered with it, I traded that lemon in for my current 2000 Ranger.
Rangers are notorious for windshield area leaks, Taurus.....not sure. Try pulling the interior trim around the windshield (front of headliner and pass.side pillar trim) and look for signs of moisture. I found the leak in my Ranger this way, sealed with RTV and no problems since.
thanks for the replys. The leak is only present when it rains. I see the water dripping on the top right corner of the floor. I suspected the seal around the windshield was the culprit on first inspection but just wanted to see if this was common.

Your going to have to replace the windshield most likely. The sealant has failed or the glass itself is defective. It'll be hard to tell either way. Unless your a glass specialist, this isn't a DIY project.
Did you actually pull the interior trim off to verify the source?
I did on my '98 before passing judgement on it. I'd hate to have someone spend a few hundred on a new windshield only to find out the leak was coming from the door.

Good point. A windshield for a Taurus is only about $200 installed. They made so many Taurus' over the years that there is an abundance of parts for them.
Or, you can simply get the insurance company involved. If you have comprehensive coverage with a $100 deductable or less, then your in like flint. These winshields crack all the time.

I had the same prob. with my Ranger.....$3.69 for a tube of RTV.............fixed.
Yo . They have had problems with water coming into the car from that area through the POLLEN FILTER assembly . I would not assume it was the windshield until I was sure WHERE THE WATER WAS COMING IN .Try using some colored water in a squirt bottle and spray directly into selected areas to see where the leak is. If this doesnt help just bust out the windshield and say a "rock" hit it and let the insurance pay for it...times are tuff you know.
