i have been troubleshooting a engine ghost that only appears some times. anyway i ohmed out my injectors and plugs. all plugs were .7 good 7 injectors were 3.3-3.5 but one was 4.5-4.6 what is normal will the one out of range cause intermediate problems.
less than 5 is okay, and they should all be close to the same ohm reading. Your 1 injector being a bit different than the rest wouldn't concern me too much.
since i have 2 new harnesses i will pop the one side cover off and check it out. change the one side and see if a difference, and i also have to check and verify the ae or ad of the injectors anyway, in case i have a bad one.
I wouldn't replace the harness just for grins, but if you pop the VC and see some wires rubbed through then have at it. The only injector that might be an AE would be #8 (rear of driver's side head) and you can (and should) replace it w/an AD anyways.
Injectors. "AD" is the stock injector for 7 of the 8 cylinders in most of the SD trucks. #8 got an "AE" or long lead injector to help with "cackle". The early 99's have 8 AB injectors.
Not all trucks have the the AE injector. It wasn't done until later in the 7.3 production, but some got them as a cure for cackle. Also, I believe the early 99s have "AB" injectors...
