Sometimes you're just better off replacing them, there's sometimes a newer updated design that works better and you don't want the same thing to happen again with the same old part.

okay ford dealer fix the truck supposedly. the case of the coolant everywhere was that someone removed the degas bottle then when reinstalling it mounted it in correctly which case it to rub the back of the engine and wear a hole in it. i guess the coolant all around the degas bottle and cap was caused by a hole in the back of the degas bottle. don't forget all the coolant down the drivers side of the truck. guess i'll be get the rv out sooner than i thought and see if the problem has gone away. i'll clean the engine first to make sure that i can tell new overflow from old.
