If your state requires emission inspection for your rig then you probably don't want to delete it as they will require you to put it back on. If not then yes to the above and just get rid of it. It's not really a CAT as in gas vehicles but a particulate filter. Some remove it then beat innards out then reinstall the shell. Here is what the inside looks like on our CAT as I sliced mine in half after removable. Did you get those bolts off to see if it was plugged up ...
Hussler i got the CAT and DP apart and its being a booger on the back side.
And from what i can tell this may have been what was causing my restriction.
Truck feels and sounds much better going down the road with the exhaust unbolted, i really hear the turbo whissle now.

Sounds like you are making progress.
If you are referring to getting the CAT off the back side of the exhaust, well that can be changeling. Took me and a buddy biggest part of a day to beat that thing off. It's quite heavy for a small device so be careful as you will have some bruises if it falls on you.

Yep, very fine mesh screen where I don't think a Nat's a$$ could penetrate. And each additional layer is rotated 90 degrees, hundreds of them, maybe thousands .. best guess. Probably a good design before ULSD emerged on the market.
Beat the guts out of the cat and put it back on. About the only way you might get a shop to remove the cat will be to give them the $20K to cover the fine if they get caught removing the Cat.

Is that in states with emissions regulations? First place I went to wanted 60 bucks just to remove it, went next door and they took it off and welded in my straight pipe all for 50 bucks. Made my day
Nope its federal law to the best of my knowledge. We operate in Michigan and can't remove cats. Not even really supposed to work on exhaust with a missing cat if its supposed to have one unless we are putting one on.
hmmm. i guess if i have to in the future may go to a junk yard and get one. possibly movin to VA Beach after college. only goin for summer this year so aint changin tags. but if i do im thinkin probly gonna have to find me a kitten
