I have some oooolllldddd OBD2 software with a serial cable that I was wondering if it worked with my truck. I tried it this afternoon and was able to get a NO CODES response, and log MAP and RPM to the little digital gauges.
My question is, what is an easy and safe test that I can do to trip a CEL to see if it pulls the code correctly?
I tried unplugging the IAT sensor in the air box, but the dash light never came on, and the software didn't seem to notice either.
I am debating which way to go with my tuning and diagnostics modifications and code pulling is a big piece of the puzzle. If I already have that solved then
The AE with the Ford bundle will do anything you need for our trucks. Give this guy a call. His phone number in on the site. He has the best deal on the AE. click here
Scan GuageII, Aero something from Terminator Engineering. Some of the after market tuners for our trucks, Superchips, Edge will read and clear the codes also. Best bet is an AE. Not only does it read codes but it does different tests also.
