ID number: C6AE-9425-H // Ford part number: C6AZ-9424-H .. 4V Aluminum Intake Manifold.

1966/67 428 P/C // 1968/69 428 P/C with T/E & C6, use before 12/2/1968.

1968 Mustang 427 with T/E & C6.

P/C = Police Cruiser // T/E = Thermactor Emission (smog pump).

Wally, I followed the link to ID this block. Maybe you can help me out a little more to positive ID. I am confused C6ME-A is cast on the side. Also has 352 cast.

Popped freeze plugs and 428 is not cast in there unless I cant see it(shouldnt be to hard). The heads have C7AE-A casting

Likely I will have to get the measuring tape out I spose
Ford ID number: C8OE-9425-C = Ford part number: C8OZ-9424-B .. 4V Intake Manifold.

Cast Iron / 1.60" primary openings / 1.70" secondary openings.

1968/69 Fairlane/Torino 428CJ / 1968/70 Mustang 428CJ.

I've typed this jazz over 300 times here on FTE:

You cannot go by casting numbers on: 352/360/390/410/428 blocks to ID what size the engine is...because ALL were cast as 352's.

Only when the blocks were finished, could they be some other size.

That 352 was cast into the block on most 1965/76 FE engines. It's a foundry mark, so...it does not mean diddly-squat.

You may find that one C6ME block is a 352, another could be a 390, still another could be a 410.....or a 428.

Casting numbers cannot be cross referenced to actual Ford part numbers.

If it were me, I would just pull the head and measure bore and stroke. The only way to be sure IMHO.

I had a guy knock $100 off of a 390 I bought once, pulled the motor and showed him that it was actually a 352.

As far as the intake, use an aluminum one if you want,,,, or not. But if its take it or leave it, definitely take it.

Bill my head hurts from you beating the casting conversation into it.I know.I get it.
I was just confuzzed over the 428 casting not being in the block."You may find that one C6ME block is a 352, another could be a 390, still another could be a 410.....or a 428"
I aint even going to try and explain myself anymore.
Thanks for the help with the intake #'s.I am OUT
Wally
