A lot of people say there isn't much difference between the stock 4bbl. and Edelbrock intakes. I'd go with the Edelbrock just because of the weight reduction. That 80 lb intake gets heavy in a hurry when you're leaning over a fender.
I have the same intake and 65 iron heads. Motor runs smooth. You will like it.

I have an Edelbrock Performer for my 400ci in my '77 that I might install. This single plane might be okay in my '75 390 ci rebuild project. It was on a low geared, big tire highboy so I was not sure how it would do in my 2WD around town truck.
The heads need updating. A buddy told me to grab aluminum heads if I want something nice..I just want to stay low budget, daily driver, 30 mile longest trip ever type of truck.
The intake pictured is Edelbrock Streetmaster 390. It is a very good and light weight intake. You could lift it with one finger - I have.
I would stay away from aluminum heads if you are on the budged.
390 is a very torquey motor. It takes a little to make it high performace. With stock components it is able to produce 400hp/torque with ease.
Buy quality stock components and CJ valves 2.09/1.63 or bigger such as 2.15/1.67(1.73) depending on your bore size. Select cam with correct power band and you are quaranteed to have a smile on your face when driving your pick up.
