Ive got a 78 that does not like to stop. I keep blowing brake cylinders in the rear drivers side tire. Any help would be nice since I don't know much about brakes.
Thanks

I haven't noticed any problems with the shoes or drum. How are they readjusted?
There is a slot in the backing plate that gives you access to the star wheel adjuster.
You should adjust this wheel until the brakes light contact the drum on a consistent basis, then back it off just enough to get rid of the scuffing noise.
The adjusters can be moved with a brake spoon or simply with a screw driver.
To tighten the brakes, you need to get the brake spoon under the star wheel and rotate it upward.
To loosen the brakes, you might need a small screwdriver to put outward pressure on the adjustment pawl in order to rotate star wheel in an downward fashion.
See the diagram of the brake assembly in your repair manual to verify parts location inside the drum.
