It's amazing how people point to the "smog" in LA, the name is Los Angeles which means roughly "city of angles" part of the history is that the spainardes looked down into the valley and saw the cloud of "smog" from the indians camp fires because the air currents don't allow for the air to move and clear so even 300yrs ago the place had smog so lets put one of the largest cities in the world there and wonder why you have air pollution. LOL

I dont doubt that. I mean after all that city is surrounded by tall hills on each side. I doubt the get very strong winds there were as here in Houston we have gotten wind gusts up to 40 mph and up to 100 mph when Ike hit lol.

They say we have a smog problem here but whats funny is the sky is a very light crystal blue clear. I want to know where is this smog their talking about. Or are they confusing morning fog with smog.

I didn't know that, that's real good thanks. Sounds Like LA just needs a big fan.

We could move DC there. All the hot air rising would clear things out pretty quick.

I won't debate global warming, however, the last few winters have been very cold. So if it's that cold as far south as Ohio, it's gotta be colder at the north pole. Anything that melted during the summer would have to refreeze in the winter. I believe the climate does change as the eart is a living planet allways going through changes. I believe they are natural and will allways be. Thats why we have ice ages and so on. I'm not convinced that they are man made or man is going to stop it or change it. The earth goes through cycles, it's the natural order of things. I do believe we should do what we can to keep clean and green. I think we are going overboard with this global warming scare. If the earth wants to cycle to the warm side, thats how God intended it and were not going to change it. At the same time we need to do our part cut down on pollution and over population to keep it a safe planet for all that live here including the wildlife. There's no need to rape the rain forest like they do. Tree's are a renewable resource and if done correctly, can be managed for our use, while leaving plenty for the enviroment for out all time.

Yep thats the thing though, Enviromentalist got it in their heads that cars are polluting but guess what natural forest fires caused by lightning as well as volcanic eruptions put out alot more emissions into the atmosphere in one eruption or one fire than all the cars in the world puts out in a year.

All it is is a scare tactic to get people to change how they live and live how the "government/enviromentalist" wants you to.

I'm glad I've got my hat!!

That's not really me.

When Carbon Monoxide is exposed to the sun it quickly is rendered inert an becomes Carbon Dioxide.
I believe that that is totally and utterly false.

I hate the Global Warming myth as much as anyone else but it should be "battled" with truth.

Listen CO2 IS a greenhouse gas. We release more of through the burning of fuels than occurs naturally or did occur naturally in the past. Coupled with deforestation there aren't as many carbon sinks to deal with it. Is it causing the Earth to warm? Doubt it. It is something we should deal with? Probably. Mainly because I think we should clean up whatever mess we make or imbalance we create.

Biggest problem with this Global Warming bull**** is that money became involved and it became "the truth" that was forced upon us.

I am not going to warp my rotors to stop that heavy of a car that quickly. I have already replaced the rotors twice because they warped after having to hit the brakes hard.
Rotors don't warp from hard braking. More than likely you simply had cemetite deposits from keeping your foot on the brake after a hot stop.

A couple truths, do you know what the most abundant "greenhouse" gas even is? give you a hint it is NOT CO2, not even close. It's actually H2O yep water vapor accounts for 85% of all greenhouse gasses, so that cup of soy latte that the enviromentalist are drinking is actually causing global warming.
BUT even if you take water vapor out of the equation (yeah let those of us that are disputing this man made global warming farse do that, like say take out CO2 from the equation and see how much they would scream about false data) man contributes a whopping 4% of total CO2, oops they conviently leave out that fact, man is barely a blip.
When you do the total math, man ends up contributing approx .28% of greenhouse gases TOTAL (yes that is slightly over a quarter of 1 precent, wow we really are the problem, guess man should just die, cause a large precentage of that is from BREATHING)
here is just one of thousands of web sites with the true math about this BS
Global Warming: A closer look at the numbers

Sorry shipboy, I realize it's against what you want to believe so I am sure it's not credible

here is a nice little website showing what the true cost of this global warming legislation is going to be (note the 50% loss of GNP within the next 40yrs, yes thats right it's going to cost approx half of everything this country produces to stop something that is not even proven)

According to the experts from long ago, it's all gonna end Dec 21, 2012. So lets eat drink and be merry, for tomarrow, were all gonna die he he. If the myains were talking about themselfs, they were way off. The 2012 thing is the next big scare. I'll do like I did for Y2K, watch the ball drop and go to bed, except I'll watch the grench that stole christmass and then go to bed. I believe in God and he has the whole world in his hands and he's in complete control of all things. "Besides", I never planned on living forever anyway, at least not in this realm. There's no use to worry about when your gonna go, the fact is, we all are someday, some sooner than others. You can't escape death and taxes, ask Obama, he's not going to let us escape taxes after death he he!!!

Talking

All of these charts and stuff from sorces that arent well known may or may not contain some facts. Im not going to argue it but let me ask just 2 more questions. If THERE IS NO GLOBAL WARMING. why are layers of ice now being exposed that archeologist say havent been seen in thousands of years? and why do DETAILED satelite photos from google earth and NASA show without doubt that the ice caps are smaller.......I guess this settles it unless you can find someone that can prove the pictures lie and that the many archeologist are wrong........case in point.. Please show a credible sorce that can rebute these examples.Any MAJOR news media will do...

ship boy if that stuff is true why do they have to use satilite imagery from 10yrs ago instead of current stuff (you know the ones that show the polar ice caps are growing)
Why do they point to 1 glacier that is shrinking and exposing some ice that has been covered up while hidding the others that are larger then anytime in recorded history. Why is there over 2000 scientist that say that those claiming man made global warming are using selective data.
Yes there has been global warming AND cooling throughout history, currently we are going through a cooling cycle (even some of the global warming people admit this, but try to claim it's just a temporary thing). Why did they change it from global warming to global climate change? There is your biggest clue, if it was such an assured thing why did they have to drop the warming part? Answer that before you try to convince anyone of anything.
Also answer why they claim you have to look at the big picture but ignore the fact that every planet in the solar system was warming at the same or higher rate as earth during the same time. And ignoring the solar cycles that are a known fact.
It's not so much that we are saying the earth is or is not warming we are saying that man isn't causing it, man's truthful contribution is less then 1% (not even up to the statistical error, but the alarmist won't tell you that). The MAN MADE part is the scam, they are using a historically natural cycle of the earth to scare people into giving up rights, and money it's a scam pure and simple.

monsterbaby, please read my post again.

I did not say that we cause more than natural causes. What I said is that by us burning fuels and deforesting we've released more than would occur naturally than without doing that ...assuming everything else being equal. In fact...quoting a reliable source... exactly .28% more than would have occurred.

I live on an active volcano. I'm well aware of its emissions compared to all the cars on the earth...ever.

I'm also away that H2O vapor is the single largest greenhouse gas.

It's too bad really that you were so blinded by wanting to rebuke my post and prove shipboy wrong, that you didn't even correct the information coming from someone on your side (Rusty S). That is biggest problem most folks have and why we're on the losing side of the Global Warming myth.
