Ya maybe thats what he meant. He said he spent 2000.00 on it having it fixed and said it was a EGR filter and took apart his motor to fix. I was just wanting to know if i get to have somthing like that fixed down the road.
thanks
You could delete it and never have to worry about it again, or get yourself a coolant filter and help it live a little longer http://www.dieselsite.com/index.asp?...ROD&ProdID=324 This is one of the BEST mods you can do for your truck. Period.
Welcome.... I'm new tooo. I've made a few posts and been reading.. I maybe have a biased view but, Yes 6.0L EGR cooler leak. BUT........ An '06 with 54K onit you have a factory FORD 5yr 100K warantee on Engine. Yes EGR Cooler, Headgaskets, EGR valve, Turbo, all are covered with $100.00 Dedutible, any FORD dealer in the country... The only concern would be if there are any mods ie: chip, "Ram airfilter," etc... This will void the extended coverage... FYI.... Good luck and Welcome again....
Mine was still filtering when I changed it while I was changing my lower hose and coolant. The crap that came out of that filter just by dumping it into an empty milk jug was amazing! I took pics, but I didn't cut open the filter. What came out of it was enough to convince me I did the right thing by installing it.
