i am building a 351w to swap in my 94 f150 and i dont want to spend $300 on EGR headers. Has anyone welded up piping or anything to make the NON EGR headers work with the egr valve?
I use my truck for towing an I'd like to keep my egr functional.
The non smog headers are only $150. the headers that say they will work with egr are $289..... any ideas?

Yes I have. If you are buying ceramic coated or stainless headers it makes sense to get them with the fittings you need already installed, but if you are buying painted headers there's no reason you couldn't weld on the fittings you need and repaint them... the paint that they are delivered with is often coming off when you get them anyway.
When I did my set I cut the female end of another EGR tube(sourced from a scrapyard) and welded it onto the header tube in the right position. I temporarally mounted the header on the motor to get it lined up right, tacked it in place and then removed the header and completed the welding.
