I always hear bad stuff about the lucas, but I have been using it for several years with no problems. My truck will smoke non-stop unless I put a bottle in at each oil change. I'm not saying other products wont work as well, but the lucas is working fine by me.

I do know when you put those thick oil additives in, make sure that the engine is warm, and get the bottle of stuff nice and hot too! either let it sit under a hot water tap, or some other method, or else it will be to thick for the oil pump to push through. Trust me, that's how I lost my 85 Country Squire....
The fuel treatment is to just help dissolve varnish in the injectors and what not.
