I but sum seafoam in my f-250 and ran it about 50 miles and man was it smoking. So i change the oil and ran it about another 50 miles but it is still smoking not as bad as it was but still smoking. The didnt smoke before i added the seafoam does anybody know how oil changes before it will flush out the seafoam or is there something else i can do to flush oil system.
huh?
has anything else changed besides the smoking? is it knocking? running rough?
and dont let stosh see that grammer he'll kill us all
jk
No nothing else as changed i put the seafoam in because it had a slight tickinng i took off the valve cover and some one had but a nut as a spacer beteen the rocker and the spring tha smoke is white and smells like oil
You didn't use the whole can did you. It says one pint(the whole can)treats 10 quarts of oil. That stuff could have washed the oil off your cylinder walls or freed up some gunk that was preventing oil from entering the combustion chamber. I personally wouldn't add it to my crakncase, but it works good in the gas and through the vacumn lines. Usually white smoke is coolant burning though, blue indicates oil burning.

I put about 3/4 of the can in and i dont see any water in the oil what are you thhinking maybe head gaskit
Wow, you shouldn't smoke at all with it in the oil. The ONLY time Seafoam makes your vehicle 'smoke' is when you do your intake with it (vacuum line). Then, you can get a 30 second - 2 minute smoke show. WHITE smoke... I'm guessing your smoke is blue. Sounds like you had some oil sealing some stuff off (like the piston rings), and it broke that old oil loose.
I'd use an oil with some seal swelling properties. I've always heard Valvoline Maxlife is great for this.

How many miles does this 460 have on it?
It has around 150,000 on it.Damn thing does'nt smoke a lick when you first start it only when the oil starts to heat up.
What weight oil are you currently running? That's not high mileage, imo, unless it's been pulling 12,000 pounds for 80% of that, and had bad oil change intervals. I've always been weary of putting Seafoam in the crankcase. I've done it in the gas tanks and in the intakes of many vehicles, though, and never had a problem. So, I dunno.
But, is the smoke blue? I haven't seen you mention, and you may already know (but we don't), but blue smoke = oil, black/gray smoke = fuel, white smoke = coolant the majority of the time.
If it is blue smoke, it sounds like it cleaned up some crud somewhere and now you are burning some oil when it gets thin enough (heated up enough).
wonder if did something to valve seals.could have cleaned crud arround seals.you said it smokes when engine warm.maybe when oil gets warm and thins it's leaking down valve guides burning oil in cylinder.just another place to check. good luck
Instant smoking indicates the bad valve seals, while waiting until it's warm to smoke usually indicates bad rings. My truck has both problems, but was used for pulling a 5th wheel for the first 109k of it's life. It only has 130k right now, and I haven't been much kinder to it with a 3 axle flatbed. It sounds like the seafoam may have worked too well. I would try some maxlife as suggested, maybe even go to a slightly heavier weight.

I am shock if i found a product that works ha ha.I belive this truck towed a 5th it has tow package and holes drilled in the bed for a 5th wheel. What about running 20/50 and maybe some stop smoke? I have been put in 10/40 wieght and the smoke looks white but smells like oil.
