Sorry if this gets tiring.....
IF....you want to run the 5.4 SC motor....with control and diagnostics.....tuneability and reliability.....
You must get:
Computer for Lightning/HD SC
4R100 or E40D Trans
Stock L Mass-air
All associated harnesses
SVT Cluster
By-pass things are PATS, EGR, ABS....
Think of the motor, computer and cluster as 1 item.....for communication purposes.....they are. The two data leads (grn/wht and ora/wht?) for OBDII run through the cluster....from the computer....and read through the OBDII port (normally found under the dash above the gas pedal).....
You can get away with running 1 set of 02's....just make sure your tune is good and go with wide-band
This is an excellent project, and quite challenging.....so make sure you have time, money and patience alloted. I started mine and got frustrated after two years....let it sit for a year...and now....

tafoyanando, I just did a similar swap. A 93 EFI 5.8L into my 1975 f-250. Like you, I had a complete donor f-350. I did a lot of research and found it would be easiest to just keep everything. And you using an OBD II engine with a electronically controlled trans(unless its manual), I would think it would especially good to keep the engine/trans controls 100% intact. I dont know a lot about how ford ECUs react to missing components, but from what I gather, even the old OBD I systems can be a little touchy. I wanted to get the most power and mileage out of my engine without doing any computer flashing or reprogramming. Thought I'd just give you my 2 cents, good luck!

I am putting a 32v 4.6 in my 65 f100. I have learned that the biggest thing in getting them to run is to reprogram the computer and shut off the anti theft and emissions things, egr, knock, cats. If you dont shut off anti theft it probably wont run.
