Ah, found the more definitive answer on pages eight and nine of the diesel supplement. There is no oil pressure idiot light in the diesel instrument cluster. It's been replaced by the glow plug light. They did put it in the dash computer though.
Is that supposed to illuminate if you turn the key to the "on" position before you start it? A relative of mine has an '08 6.4, and he was wondering about it today. His does not come on, but he thought that it should. He was wondering if he needs a new instrument cluster.

Nope, it'll only come on when the pressure drops. That area of the computer display tells you other things too, like low fuel, etc.
date:2016 2010 6.4L f350 Diesel
If your getting an Oil can on your dashboard next to your Mileage board, Then it's more then likely that you moved the D-tend. there is NO other way to removed the so called idiot light. the only way to fix this problem is by going back to your oil change operation and pop open the oil filter reservoir, remove the filter and look down into the bottle you probably hit the d-tend and it laying there. that why you get the oil can display..
Anyone out there have any problems with a 6.4 2010. I change the hoses back in October. And now it keeps clasping but only when the engine is completely cold. It seems that if I Start it up, and open the coolant bottle it conforms back to what the hose should look like, and runs fine all day long. Do I have to take it and have them pull Vacuum on it.
