NP 208 T-Case Length?
What is the length of the NP 208 as used in the early '80's? Measure from front face to centerline of output yoke.
I'm looking to replace a too-heavy '78 NP205 if I can do it without driveshaft changes. (Overhauled a year ago and converted to twin-stick)
Will the NP208 bolt up to the stock '78 tailshaft?

You'll have a hard time doing the switch without replacing the driveshafts. Apart from being a bit longer, there are a few different types of NP208's. The ones that came from Bronco's were slip-yokes, I believe, and the ones from F-250's were a different yoke, and both were different lengths. The tail chaft shound fit. I recently put a 86 C-6 with a '78 205 in my '72 Bronco and all I had to do was switch the transfer cases; all the other holes lined up just fine. What do you plan on doing with your twin-stick 205?
