HI. I remember someone on here that had what i think was a reusable 6637.it looked liked it was made out of the stuff K&N uses. if I'm right who sells them.and how do they hold up.
Yes... Brandon Drummonds is running one. It is made for AirFlow Systems by AFE, and is hte 5-ply gauze format which is the same construction as the Stage 1 AFE elements. It has about twice the airflow rating as the paper 6637, and is the exact same external dimensions. One of the ways it gets its higher airflow is by having a second filtration cone inverted into the end of the filter.
IIRC, you can only get the elements through AirFlow Systems. Dig through those two thread links I posted, though, and you might find an alternative AFE number to order direct.
BTW... why are you getting a new one? Something happen to the original?
This is a little off topic, but does anyone know just what the 6637 filter was installed on? I checked the NAPA catalog, and it just says various industrial applications. I browsed through the heavy duty & off road catalog, but never found an application for the 6637.

Original purpose for a 6637 was for a 5.9B and 4BT cummins motors used in industrial air compressors.
Pete, thanks for taking up my slack with the links!
And by the way guys, Pete does make a cover to fit these filters, and it works great.
