Edelbrock makes an EFI system for the FE engine for the meer financial consideration of $4,200.00 and it works on the speed density principle. You can get the manifold only from them and then get the efi system off of a 460 and install it on the FE for about one fourth the price and it runs on the mass air flow principle. I'm going for the later on the 410 that is being built for Joey's project.
sounds good Gear Up. I know Edelbrock makes as well as holley the throttlebody that bolts to the carb manifold or a EFI kit but for the price I thought a webber look would look better but there are options out there though.
One thing I might add. I would like to throw a plug in for stock systems. I built mine with all emission components etc that were on the Mustang I took the 5.0 from. Plus using Motorsports harnesses I retained the ability for plugging in a diagnostic tester if problems arise. Anyone who works with Mustangs should be able to fix my truck. Something to throw around in the noggin if ya travel alot and aren't intimitely familiar with your system.
Yep thats a good idea. The computer on the kit I mentioned has a laptop hook up you can hook up and set up and fine tune the specifications but it also shows you graphs for the air/fuel mixture throughout the rpm range that the o2 sensor is showing and such. But if your going with just a stock engine then a stock harness and engine computer is a great idea to do since it will show codes.
Now if your going with a custom built engine then you would need a engine computer where you can plug in a laptop and fine tune it to eliminate bog and adjust timing for smooth performance or max power or what ever you are seeking.
Holley offers ahook up for their throttle body injection kits that bolts atop a carb intake manifold but Edelbrock offers a fuel injection kit ith fuel injection manifold that has a built in control pad you dont need a computer to plug in.
