2003 4.2l burning up alternators?

2003 4.2l burning up alternators?
my buddy has a 2003 4.2 v6 5 spd that is going through alternators like nothing. we have to charge the battery at work to get him home. we are totally lost at this point. its went through 4 of them now. put it in turn it on an it burns them up. please help. there is a new one in it now that we wont hook up, we just charge the bat an it runs fine. hope some one can help. thanks

If you have a bad battery, it puts strain on the alternator. When you replace an alternator, it is good idea to replace the battery too. Have you had the electrical system load tested?
