Thumbs up BD CCV Re-Route Kit...Pics

Hey Guys,

Just got done with the reroute kit and needless to say it was a pain. The kit is great, well put together, directions are easy to follow. Its just with all the stuff I have done with my truck it wasnt easy. This is a great kit and looks like it belongs under the hood.

The hoses were a bit off a pain for me because of the larger CAC tubes that I have on my truck so I had to do some extra disassembly

Sorry about the catch can picture. It bolts to a pre drilled hole in the frame on the passenger side and needs to be drained at every oil change. All in all I am pleased with the final product.

Sarge...nice pics and install! I would like to do this modification with this kit. I can't install it as shown because I have a coolant filter that occupies that location in the engine compartment. With your experience on this install can you suggest another location on the truck that you think would work also? Thanks.

I have the same issue, I had to remove my coolant filter for now. I have ben having some turbo issues so to help rectafy them I decided that the CCV had to take priority for now. I tried to mount in in front of the condensor but there isnt much room up there. I was thinking either on the frame somewhere or in the ront bumper.

I have about 4k on the coolant filters and have ben through 4 of them. I will cut it open tomarrow and see whats in there. That will tell me the priority of trying to rig it up.

Be sure and let us know if you ever get oil out of it. I just did a hose down to the frame and the inside of it is dry as a bone, going on 6 months now.

Yeah I will,

I was tempted to just leave the catch can valve open to ensure no crank case pressure builds up. Thats really the only thing with this kit I am a little nervous about. Even with the factory set up I dont think there was anyway to build crank case pressure. I will keep my fingers crossed.

I've got the kit on my bench at home waiting to be installed. I also have a coolant filter installed. Hopefully I can find a location to mount the catch can

That may be hard, I tried to find a place to put mine without removing the coolant filter but you are limited by the length of hose they give you. I am going to try to find a way to mount it to the frame of the truck somewhere close to the engine but there is not a whole lot of room up close.

If you figure something out let me know.

Sarge, how did you cap off the factory vent in the intake tube?

Jim,

You dont cap it off, There is a filter in the upper can that only allows clean oil free oil back to the intake side of the turbo so there are 2 hoses going to the can, on from the CCV, I'll call that the dirty side as it enters the filterd canister and the clean side that goes back to the intake. All of the liquid is separated and stored in the catch can that is located on the right side of the frame and drained at every oil change. You are supposed to replace the filter every year or 30k.
