E150 overdrive trans ???

E150 overdrive trans ???
Hello,
On a recent excursion to one my local wrecking yards I found a 1983 Ford E150 van with a 300 and it had a 3 speed manual overdrive transmission and floor shifter. Does anyone have any info on this trans? Does it actually overdrive? Is the van trans the same as the one used in pickup trucks? Any opinions, good or bad? Does it have any value?

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 01-17-03 AT 09:13 AM (EST)]Is it a three speed or four speed? I have never heard of a three speed overdrive transmission, but that year Econoline did have a four speed manual that had an overdrive fourth gear.
