Hi gang! I recently purchased a 2000 E-150 with the 5.4L engine. When driving around town I have trouble keeping this beast under 40mph while driving in O/D - which is a bummer in the 35mph zones - so I always disable the O/D on start up. I found an InterMotive shift inverter that was used on a '98 Ford sedan with the AODE trans. For those who have never seen one, it's just a little black box with 3 wires - one to power, one to ground and one to the O/D switch wire - that will disable the overdrive on start up but will still allow it to be selected when top-gear is desired. Questions. What trans does my van have, and will this inverter work on my vehicle?
