Sometimes there is a lot of "Trial by Ordeal" in getting things to run smooth...it's all part of the fun.

My uncles '86 F150 2wd 300 3 speed manual will come close to those numbers but it is a light truck. The '85 in my sig can only pull of 16 on the highway and less in the city.

Answer: Overdrive (manual slightly better tham automatic) and highway.

Yup, that's where I was going...

BTW, the AOD is locked to the crank in 3rd and 4th so highway mileage should be the same as the manual, but I spose it's hard to beat manual trans efficiency in high gear.
