Smog check

Ok so my truck is just about/over 2 years old and I am due for a smog check. I have been thinking about a tuner and deleating but what do you all do when the smog check comes back around? Does everyone seriously put all that crap back on for the check and then turn around and take it off again!

That would be your only option. As it wont pass without it.

CA diesel inspection is pretty lame currently, they do a visual inspection of all the emissions equipment to see if it is still there/fitted, check for codes, then do a "blip" test to test if the truck blows a lot of smoke. Bear in mind, in the future they could do a sniff test (like they do with gassers), so it is pretty easy for a diesel vehicle to pass smog as long as it looks like all the emissions equipment is there.

My straight-piped 7.3 passes fine (truck wasn't originally fitted with a cat).

I think that has given you enough information to start being creative
