am /fm 8 track cb radio ??
I just picked up a new parts truck (1979 f-150 ranger Lariat). It has the factory am/fm 8 track with cb. I was wondering how rare this option is and if it is worth anything? I am thinking about using it in my project. One other thing is, the anntana is broke off, does this require a special anntana? It looks like the radio and cb use the same one?? Any diagrams out the on how this should be hooked up?

No 8 track and no cassete player stock. Post a picture of this setup that you have 428HIGHBOY.
AM, AM/FM or AM/digital clock were the only options.
Factory AM/FM/CB antenna, about as hard to find as that needle in a haystack.

Center dash Speaker is wired for CB, and door speakers are wired for stereo.
On AM or AM/FM mono radios, the Center dash Speaker is used for both CB and radio. When the CB is on, it cuts the normal radio off.
You can hook up a regular CB antenna to the factory CB radio as an option as well, then use a regular AM/Fm antenna for the stereo. Then they can be totally independant units. However it's not factory that way, which probably defeats the purpose.

According to the 1979 wiring diagrams, if the truck is equipped with a AM/FM stereo, the CB is independant of the radio, bar the antenna.

I took a short video of it. If you look close you can see the ford logo on the cb.
