am /fm 8 track cb radio ??
Usually the mic has the plug connector under the dash. IIRC that mic holder is from a later model, 80-up. Post a picture of the mic and that will tell me the year of the system. Where is the control box? The radio is still not original for the truck and was swapped in at some time. I run the factory CB setup with a CD player.
The control box is under the seat. I have several pics of the truck with a few of the CB. I also took on of the antenna (or whats left of it). It does appear to be the style that was posted earlier. If it isnt original I wont be heart broken, just thought a rare option would be nice to put on my project.

There isnt much good left on this ride. What is good is being used for my 76 highboy project. dont worry i will keep all the goodies.
The antenna could of been the same for later years but I am not sure. The PO could of put that CB setup in the truck in the early 80's for all we know. I do know it is a later model mic and there were no 8-tracks offered for 79-earlier F-series. Either way take it all, even what's left of the antenna. The mast was replaceable on those.

The same CB antenna fit F100/350's & Bronco's....but not Econolines.
What's the difference between an 1978/79 Econoline and a 1978/79 F100/350/Bronco CB antenna?
Because the Econolines sat higher than F100/350/Bronco's, the mast is shorter. That is the only difference.

No Ford dealer or obsolete parts vendor has either one.
OK guys, i have just got to the point of using the CB. I pulled it out of the parts truck and now I am trying to figure out how it needs to be wired up. I have a yellow/black which I figured it to be the power and then there is a green/red, lt.blue/red, and blue/green. Does anyone know how to wire it up? I am assuming that after the power the only thing that should be left is the speaker wires????
WOW............ shades of the past folks ! I was manufacturing Truck consoles and Van accessories back in those days ! Yes to answer the origional question . Those radioes were almost as rare as the 1964-5 Mustang 8 Track - A M radios I used to install at a Ford Dealership in Richmond Va . I bought several of those same radiosat a Ford Dealer in Grapevine Texas years later , the 8- Tracks . As for the C B Stereoes , tey were slightly more common at least on Lincons asI continued to install radios on part time basis even when I was in Houston Manufacturing Truck accessories . The factory antenia got out but I wound up actually running a " Splitter" for these antenas. You should see where the factory had one in their wiring as well. Radio Shack may be still be able to help but , I am dubious . See, C B broad casts are different than that of A M - F M broad casts . C B was on the A M frequency but their signals were not on the usual " Broadcast bands . Hence , the splitter . Ed Shaver
The factory used a splitter which mounted under the dash in the right side corner.
First year for Factory 8-track and compact cassette in F-series is 1980.
Dealer installed kits go back to the 60's, however they install under the dash, and work in conjunction with the factory radio.
