est about finished now and more than happy I painted both my grill and bumper, same colour, chrome around the headlamp and chrome teeth with chrome v./8 and the ford plate I love it and most people so far also. Its' all personal prefernce, I sure it will look good both way David
but not just plain ol' white, or superwhite if it's anything like the canadian 57-60s,, hadda long discussion/visit with a concourse type restorer guy & his research showed it was kinda a off white.... a good match i've found is like a krylon BBQ tank white.

The '53 and '54 grilles were Sungate Ivory. The '55 and '56 grilles were either Colonial White or Snowshoe white, I keep forgetting which it is. This was a more white color than the Sungate Ivory. Someone will be along soon to correct me. The Ford literature says they were painted that color to complement any body color. The wheels of the '55 and '56 F-100's were also painted the same white color. If you had the 2 tone option on the cab rook and cab back it was the same white color. Bumpers were originally black on all 4 years.
Abe and Julie are correct. The colonial white ,I have sprayed many times. I like a chrome grille, but if your truck is not a custom cab---white it is!!!!!.....unless you dare to be different...haha
