You have a cylinder that isn't firing. The flashing light is a warning that too much raw fuel is in the exhaust system and has the potential to destroy your catalytic converters.

2003 expo
Changed plugs and boots, starts right away but still sputters. DTC #7 cylinder misfire. Purchased a coil at Nu-way auto for the ridiculous price of $60+, installed and every thing is A-OK. Couldn't wait 4-5 days shipping or could have cost less than $20 on Ebay.
