nice job. and if you have to do a panic stop that diet coke will just run down to the floor mats and not ruin the cardboard ! just dont put any goldfish in there.

As dried out as the cardboard was, any kind of spark or an overheating wire could have touched off quite a blaze!

Looks good, Ross. I guess I'll have to head to the pond liner store next time out. I have the cab stripped and was looking for an option to cover the firewall.

About 13 years ago I put the ABS one on my firewall. I like it.

In another thread Chuck of Chuck's Trucks said he sprayed something on his original cardboard firewall cover. But I am sure his was in pretty good shape already....

BTW, the pond liner I used is something like .040" EPDM, not .060 as I stated earlier (4 yrs ago).

Looks good. I put ac in my F1 and didn't have room for the fiberglass firewall cover I bought from Dennis Carpenter. Has a nice "Ford" oval molded into it. As I was reading this thread I thought someone might want the one I never used. It's for sale if anyone is interested pm me. It's been taking up room in my garage for a long time.
