newbie with a question

hello everyone! ok...its like an unwritten law in my family u must own a ford, lol not to mention i was banned from parking any other truck in the garage if it wasnt a ford...so since I am finishing college its new truck time...I'm gathering information on lightnings now...I loveeeeeee these trucks, i've wanted one for a couple of years now...all i need to know is can i put a fiberglass bed cover on it? Is there enough room behind the seat to throw a couple of tubes back there ( need a lil bump )? And if i buy it in another state am I going to be paying more taxes to bring it back home? fyi im refusing to buy it from any of the chicago area ford dealers since they seem to only carry blue and red, and i get a ton of ***** bein a girl......" no sweetie why dont u just buy a ranger "..if i wanted another ranger i would buy another ranger......idiots...thankz for the help/info, your all lucky to own lightnings already

Good luck on getting a lightning.

I have a "snug top" rear lid that is fiberglass. It's lined with carpet so it's quiet and has a set of hydraulic rams that hold it open. My truck is red and I have the matching color.

Not much room behind the seat. It depends on how long your legs are. There's a little shelf directly behind the seats--not much room. Go see your Ford dealer and look at a standard cab truck you you'll see what I mean. I think that Crutchfield sells a small bass boomer box for going behind a truck seat. Good luck, Ron

AS far as installing a fiberglass tonneau cover, it's one of the best mods you can do. I wouldn't have a truck without one. I have a Snuglid cover on my L, cost was about $740, painted and installed.
