I have been waiting for the 09 F150 to come out for what seems to feel like forever hoping someone would produce a better engine program but what i’m looking for is Tundra Power. Therefore, i’m thinking Supercharger or possibly even a 3.5l Eco Boost or 6.2l swap when they becomes available. What do you guys (or girls) think? I’m sure the supercharger would make more power but i don’t need 450+ HP so i don’t know. Should i pull the trigger on a supercharger or wait to see what the 6.2l is going to be about? , not to mention cost. The 3.5l from what i've read will be around 350/350 and i'm sure sooner or later some company will play with the turbo and get stupid numbers out of that... but it may be cheaper than the 6.2l...
It all depends on how long you are willing to wait. If I was that power hungry, I would probably wait a little longer to see if these new engines are coming out in the near future. It still would not suprise me that much to see the 6.2 get canned at the last second. I believe I remember first reading about Ford developing this engine around 2003-2004. Here it is 2009, and it still hasn't become a reality yet, but we seem to be closer than ever. If you wait for the 6.2, it will come with a warranty, which you would likely lose with a supercharger.
When you say "swap", if you mean buy an '09 and swap out the 5.4 for a 6.2 when it becomes available as a crate enine, I wouldn't even consider that. It would be far too costly and complicated, IMO.
Well i'm around 60,000 miles already in my 07 and even though i have the extended 100,000mi warranty i thought there was a Ford approved Supercharger out there. I don't believe there is going to be another generation of Expeditions, nor will i have the need for a new SUV since i love this one as much as i do so i wouldn't buy a new one if they offered a new engine option when i could just simply swap that new engine in. Maybe having a fully warranted engine is worth the wait so i guess i'll continue to do so... thanks for the reply

I just checked the fordracingparts website. They do offer superchargers for the 04-08 trucks, but it says specifically that it will void your warranty. They do offer a supercharger for the mustang that allows you to keep the warranty...maybe that's what you were thinking of.

I feel the same about the 6.2. The big 3 are getting told to sort there life's out and bring some good fuel efficient cars out and there they are putting money into a 6.2l beast. Will 2009/2010 be the last couple of years well will see v8 5+ liter engines??? I'm sure it's not far off.
I see you're right, after looking around i noticed there isn't a supercharger available for the 07+ Expeditions yet, so the wait continues... Seeing how the Expedition and the F150 are the basically the same the wait shouldn't be long since the aftermarket favors the F150.
Look at this kit from Roush. It says it fits 2004-2009 F-150s with the 5.4. You have to read down through the write-up but down toward the bottom is where it says 2004-2009. It also says it covers the remainder of the 3/36 Ford warranty or for 1 year if the vehicle is already out of the 3/36. May not be exactly what you're looking for but it does have warranty. I would think a call to them would give you some info on whether or not it would work with the Expy.
power is nice, spend lots of cash to make an 09 got fast, but at 95 mph the quit going any faster. how do you get around that? future models are likely to have the same setup.

It's not about going fast, and i'd only spend that kind of money on a vehicle i plan of keeping until the wheels fell off. You can get around the top speed issue with a programmer but i wouldn't dare ride around @ 100+ in a 6000lb vehicle.
