Hi Mike,

I want to order my tuner this week for my new truck.

Anyways can I order a custom program, along with the ones you already have set in the box?

I was going to email you, then thought maybe others wonder the same thing, so thought a thread might be a good idea.

Basically I would like an economy setting for cruising the highway with no load or light load, to get rhe best MPG possible.

Then one for Hauling my heavy camper, and towing at the same time.

And I would also like one that just gives me ***** out acceleration, so if driving along empty, and want to play it goes as hard as possible when I floor it.

Doable?

Me 3. Also, I want to know the advantage/usefulness of a tune on a manual. DKF explained it some but if 3/4 of a tune, or a chip deals with the auto trans, is there any real gain on a manual? Is the price the same if 3/4 of the tune is useless to me?

Hi Saleeguy,
Thanks for the post, Custom tuning is that, You can have any tune developed/tailored for your truck. Deciding on what octane level you want for each tune would be key. 87-89-91-93.. Based on the octane level you would want for a tune it then can be tailored for its type in any octane level.
Economy
Performance
Tow

Trucks that have the 5R110 trans-Tow/Haul mode function are 2 fold in that a Performance and Tow tune are one in the same. Based on selecting and deselecting the Tow/Haul mode. Trucks that have the 4R100 trans Performance and Tow tunes are NOT the same and are written different.


Before we can develop any tunes we ask that you fill out our Calibration / Vehicle info form from our website. See here Cal Request - Vehicle Information

Hang10... For manual trans trucks with Drive By Wire or trucks that have the Open Loop Fuel enrichment issue (stock)... Tuning will help...
But to your point you are correct...a manual tranny requires less time to tune.. So basically, If it saves me time then i can save you money.

I am going to be going with you for my tuner, and thought a custom tune was possible, hence the thread.

I will be filling out your questionairre.

I am glad we finally have this thread, as I know many folks have this same sort of question.

Mike - What is average difference in MPG, HP and/or TQ between the different octane tunes? I am trying to figure out if the gains are worth the extra cost for the higher octane fuels.

Lots of variations but 1-2 max on the economy gains 87 lower end of that 93 upper end of that.. HP/TQ biggest gain is on 87 over stock... At least what I have seen on fairly stock V10's
