wait, with an 85 mph speedo you can't get a higher speeding ticket?
that sounds a little hairy.

Plus I got pulled over for driving "R" once.

iIRC they can give you a ticket for the speed you're doing but the judge will knock it down, this was quite a few years back tough.

Well I would be willing to bet I've had more speeding tickets than most on this forum and it never mattered how high my speedo went.

How many Have you had Starmilt? I've had 3 for speeding, one for a California stop in arizona, one for haveing a mini van stop for no reason in front of me on an onramp, one for improper lane useage, a twofer fo crossing the gore area and failer to yeild(Apperently I should have hit the guy that cut me off) and got poped for no proof of insurance when I was tailgating a guy going 5mph in a 45mph zone(droped when I showed proff of insurance in court) A warning for making a right hand turn on a green light and turning into the furthest lane to the left going in my direction (perfectly leagal in some stats). Warning for 65 in a 55 keeping up with trafic and got pulled over because I was the only one to slow down when we hit wickenburg and it droped to 45 but they only wanted to run a drug dog around my care because they had seen me going Between LV and Phoenix so much and still not sure why I was pulled over the last time lokked at my info and left didn't say any more than licens and registration and here you go then drove off.

LMOA Well put it this way I nearly caught you in 24 hours once. 2 at 96 1 at 95 1 stop sign in 24 hours. Before it was so hard on insurance it was nearly a weekly thing.

The 4 in 24 hours was because I wanted to get home for valentines day 1984 haven't really worried about a holliday since.

I got one like that several years ago. Guy pulled out of a side road and I went into the turn lane to avoid him. Cop that I had passed going the other way over a hill a 1/4 mile earlier claims that he saw the whole thing and that the guy was in front of me the entire time and I just passed him. I got it for no insurance then too because my wife had the ins card in her purse. That was a $500 mess by the time it was done.

I've only had 3 speeding tickets in 20 years. I had numerous exihibition of speed and excessive tire speed??? tickets and a pile of equipment violations. I got my first one at 14. It seems like the times that I did get nabbed, I wasn't doing anything wrong, but I guess it makes up for those times when I should have been caught.

Never been pulled over myself. There was a traffic check stop out in the middle of no where to catch drunk drivers once. Poor cop was out there all by himself. Asked to see my lisence, but not registration then sent me on my way. Felt sorry for him actually. Also got a parking ticket once. No moving violations, or accidents so far and I currently get the cheapest insurance possible because of it.

The fact that my truck looks as rough as it does probably has something to do with how easy they seem to go on me. I've lost count of how many times I've seen a speed trap ahead and others around me get flagged over but I seem invisible. One thing I learned about getting away with speeding is to never be out in front or alone. Keeping an eye out for speed traps also has a way of keeping you alert when driving.

It probably helps that cops are not aware that my truck is technically an "interceptor" when you consider how fast it can cruise, let alone top out at. All they see is an old, beat up non descript ford pickup being driven by a young tradesman trying to earn a living.

Works for me.

My personal best was at 16 when I flew by officer Friendly doing 75+ and still accelerating in a 30. He said I was doing 36 in a 25. I started to correct him that the limit was 30, but no sound came out when I opened my mouth...

I got my first one between dayton and crosby tx 94 I don't remember if the nationwide 55 had gone into affect or not so the speed limit could have been 70 and no drivers license. This was 1.30 in the morning and I had been baling hay all day then hauled hay until then and was racing my boss back to crosby. Two cops were sitting out there waiting on a yellow chevelle and here I came they didn't even stop my boss because they thought they had who they were looking for. Not many 13 year old kids worked and most in those days had long hair this was 71 so I talked them out of the ticket.
But then one of them asked if my parents knew I was driving now they could give your parents a ticket for letting you drive so I told them my folks were out of town.

The cop says well we better give you a ticket so they will find out. 94 and no license started me out on a long line of them.

Not long after 911 when the amthrax was getting mailed around every time you went on a military base you had to open your hood and all boxes for them to search your truck.

Well I delivered a load to fort bragg and there were 8 soldiers there with auto weapons except one he had a grenade launcher or bazooka or something of the sort. When they told me everything I had to go threw I told them they didn't think they were going to get my amthrax did they. Things got real exciting in a hurry my coison was riding with me and he had just been disgharged out of the navy he just said oooh no and slumped back in the seat.

They weren't trigger happy but I did get to see the size of the hole in the end of a couple barrels. These were the guys with the funny looking red hats they were cool after awhile though. Just no sense of humor.

MY latest was in december I walked away from my bag out on the sidewalk at the airport and a cop driving by stopped and went to investigate so I told him it was mine and he went ballistic on me. So I asked him how many terrorist he has run across that told him to leave their bomb alone. Just no sense of humor these days. Now he takes my license and tells me he didn't like my attitude. So being the nice guy I am I tell him I don't give a rats **** he wasn't being paid to like me. Now he tells me he can lock me up for my attitude so I said if he could do that I would have been in for life years ago.
Again no sense of humor times have changed.
