want to help pull an engine?
Well if all goes right i should be pulling my engine this weekend.
i should have the motor by Thursday and get all my stuff on it before the weekend and have the truck ready for saturday, pull the radiator, headers...
also i have never pulled an auto trans apart from an engine, any one know of a thread or some steps that i have to do to get my C6 off the 460? and dont forget that the motor wont turn over at all.
so if anyone is interested in helping, watching, bring tools...(i could use a picker and a stand) all are welcome.

You're going to need to turn that motor over before you pull it unless you want to let yourself in for a LOT more work than is necessary. You need to disconnect the torque converter from the flex plate sooner or later, and it would be a lot easier NOT to have to pull the trans with the motor.
Yank the heads and see if you can find what's locking it up, and try to take care of it if possible.
Might be able to help you on Saturday - chapter G2G is on Sunday, so that's out.
I've got a hoist and a stand.

It would be a big help to have the hoist to pull those heads - trust me. I'll bet they are at least 80# each. The hoist might also aid in getting the motor freed so you can turn it over.
By attaching the motor to the hoist it would be a simple task to lift it and remove the pan so any broken rods could be removed, allowing the motor to spin.
My hoist is stored in the garage attic - sure would be a lot easier to get down if you could come over and give me a hand - I'll gladly take it over to your house, and you can use it as long as necessary.
