There have been a few threads on measurements, including the factory measurements in the past.

Do a search on yellow-something. Yello-Mello?

O.K. Just measured 2 of mine (a '77 and a '78) The first measurement is the distance back are from the middle of the curve above the windshield, that is to say where the roofline curves down a couple of inches above the windshield to the front edge of the lite base ,the frontmost point where the lite housing touches the cab. (hope that makes sense) This distance is 6 3/8 " Working outward from the middle, the side to side distance from the center of this lite to the center of the next one is 9 1/2" (same on the other side, of course) and the distance from the center of those lites to the center of the outboard lites is 15 1/2". They are layed out in a dead straight line, meaning they do NOT follow the curve of the roofline above the windshield. For the actual distance back from the curve above the windshield to the center of the middle hole, you need to add the distance from the front edge of whatever lites you are using to the point where the wire comes out. In my case, using factory lites it is 2 1/2', making the full distance of setback to the center hole 8 7/8", but I'm not sure if this varies year to year, somebody else may know. The hole diameter on mine is 9/16". So if you lay them out in a straight line using these numbers and make sure the two outside lites are the same distance back, you should be good to go. And even with gaskets, I would use some kind of sealer around the holes or they might leak. Silicone, plumbers putty, bear fat, whatever. Hope this helps.
