What should i expect to pay for 09?

Ok so i know you cant give me a dollar amount but im lookin to see what i should be gettin off sticker. Ive seen some guys getting 9600 or so and id love to get that but im not sure ill qualify. In upstate NY we have a $3000 rebate until 3/31. Hopin it goes up after that but not likely. I got a trade in they said they would be given me 7000 for but im curious how much i should be gettin the truck marked down. I went to one dealer and all he was willing to do is make my trade up to 7600 and not touch the truck price and only offer me the 3000 rebate. I've never bought a Ford before from the dealer so i don't qualify for any return customer discounts. So with that said what should i be gettin for a mark down?

Price your truck at the website below and get invoice. Subtract the discounts from the invoice and you a fair deal.

Navy Federal: Chrome.com Web Carbook

Or just shoot for 20% off MSRP.

I don't know about your neck of the woods, but around here no one seems to be buying F-150s. If you are happy with what they're offering for your trade-in, then tell them you will buy at invoice less trade-in and current incentives. Make them show you the invoice and understand that there will be fees for FDAF (area advertising) and a full tank of fuel not shown if you price out a truck on the websites like Edmunds. Depending on how long the truck has been floored, they may say "yes," or you may have to walk out..but I'll bet that they'll call you later and counter your offer. As soon as you get to the point where you are dealing with them away from the dealership either by fax or email, the advantage shifts to you.

You need to go to a different dealer. Negotiate the price of the new truck before introducing the trade.

Try to go near the end of the month / quarter.

Prearrange your financing and get a baseline idea of what your lender will finance your for. That way you won't shop for too much truck.

Prearranged financing means a guarranteed sale if the numbers are right. The dealer will be more motivated that way.

Work from invoice price plus factory rebates and incentives.

As previously stated, don't be afraid to walk out. They always come around. Remember, the game of cat and mouse goes both ways. Position yourself as the hunter, not the prey.

Yeah if you get 18-22% discount then you have done ok or well. Look for about 20% of msrp as that seem to be about the avg people are getting at the moment.

a big dealer around here put a big ad out this week that lists an '09 crew cab xlt 4x4 with 5.4,chrome package, xlt convenience package,18" chrome wheels, tube steps, sat radio, keyless entry, rear defrost, power seat/pedals,locks,fog lights, tow package&sync for $29770 after rebates, MSRP is $39370. This also includes $500 for financing through ford and a $1000 bonus for trading in competitors vehicle. This is the best posted price I've seen here.

Sounds about right.

I just got a check in the mail for 11k off all new 09 f-150's, also other dealers are advertising for 10k off. I also just got a $750.00 coupon last week from ford.

So I will say that 10-12k off is very doable!

The $975 destination charge is non negotiable.

I would ask to see the invoice but would blindly start at 32k.

Just remember, a good deal in the car business is defined as both parties being satisfied with the deal. No matter what you pay for a truck, someone will always tell you that you could have done better.

After the fact, that statement is not helpful.

Interesting. I just logged on to post a similiar thread, but maybe you can give me some insight too. I've got a year left on my lease but want to buy next time around. I'm price shopping now to get an idea of what I will be paying. Ill have about $1500-$2000 as a down payment and I all ready know what I want, and actually saw the truck I wanted(plus a few features I don't really want on it) at a local dealer. Its an 09 FX4 crew, two tone paint, 5 1/2bed, FX4 plus package and a few more goodies. The MSRP is $40k. I have access to the "A" plan, and at the very minimum, the "X" plan from work.

That being said, what would a fair payment be? I really want a identical truck when my lease is up, and lower monthly payments is what I'm aiming for. Has anyone got any great deals on anything in the price range? How did you do it? I know about the current 3k off, and what is it, an extra 2k off for ford loyalty? I've got great credit, btw, so what should be a fair price, and monthly payment? Thanks in advance.

I think that mid to late 2010 will be an interesting time frame for the F-series. The SD is changing some with two new engines coming on line as as the F-150 should be ready with new engines. The mod motors will be discontinued. There may be some leftover inventory of trucks with the mod motors as people will normally flock to the new engines first.

X & A plan pricing is an autoimatic great deal, plus factory rebates and incentives.

Your payment will be impossible to calculate until you have established an out the door price. I don't think you'll do much better than that.

Perhaps if you sat down with your loan officer, you could toss him / her a few numbers and get a better idea of what the monthly note would be.
