I'm also partial to the 92-96 style. If it's an F-150, either 95 or 96 is my preference. But a 96 is just as good IMO. If it's an F-250 or F-350, definately 1997. I think the last year or two of any body style is always the best. Improvements have always been made over the earlier ones.
I dunno i've always liked the 87-91 styles even tho they look like a brick going down the road and aren't great for areodynamics, they just have that old truck look to them the boxy shape and don't look all space age and look like their transformers or something like the new ones do. And for all years short bed reg cab for city use and sporty, but the long beds in all cabs to me seem like work trucks. But as i look at the 92-96 they are growing on me alittle bit. but still partial to my 91 ext long bed
1994.....
92-96's...love the looks of these trucks...
always wanted one of these ever since I saw a new 92....
bought mine is 98..had her ever since....
92-96 models. Not just because I have one either. They have all of the good styling that I like in a Ford truck, and they still look like a work truck and not just a highway/grocery getter.
My second choice would be a 68 shortbed. I had a Black and Silver 2 tone with a 360 that I absolutely loved.
The '92-'96 ('97 HD) trucks are, in my opinion, the best looking trucks Ford has ever made. The Super Duties are ugly as sin. The 2008s are the worst looking yet and I wouldn't **** on the best part of the 6.0 or the 6.4 Powerstrokes. We tow a lot of brand new Ford diesels that are broke down, I wish Ford would have learned from the problems with the 6.0 and done proper testing on the 6.4 before throwing it on the market.
Def the 92-96s. They are the last of the real trucks. All the old Fords that we love are still part of them. They were the culmination of everything that made the F-Series great. Still boxy, but with softer edges, real truck interiors but with everything you need, real engines with cast iron blocks, and they are simple enough to fix on your own if need be. I could write pages about this. When and if it comes time to get a "new" truck I will be buying a nice 92-96 from the south or out west. I feel in love with these trucks when i was little and will always have one (or two, or three...) in my driveway.
