Im looking for a nice classy f150 that is optioned out. I want it to be something that someday say 15 years from now I can bring to car shows n have a sweet ride. Similar to the 60s and 70s fords and chevys are right now.
I was thinking of a 92-96 f150 supercab 4x4 w/a 300 I6.
(I love an Inline and know that it is a bombproof engine that gets better mileage then an 8.)
I was thinking of either the Eddie Bauer ed or the Lariat.
I dont know what diffrent options come with each.
Does anyone know where I can find a break down of the options packages for these trucks. Or can someone help spell it out for me.
why wait? mine is 30 years old now and if you offer me enough its yours.
its comming in next week to get a full detail and the shell removed and the pickup line-x.
That is a sharp old truck that Id be proud to have, but I need something a little more modern for a daily driver.
Did the lariat turn into the XLT, or is there another option that I dont know about.
It sounds like the Eddie Bauer being so rare is what I should be looking for. Does any one know what they came with for options.
1960-1996 xlt, lariat, explorer, ranger, eddie bauer were the basic trim packages for ford trucks92-96 it was xlts and eddie bauer,i think the eddies replaced the lariat, lariat came back in 97,i think ford stopped makin eddies in 97,the eddies and lariats had wood trim, padded steering wheels, nicer seats, they were more of a luxery truck
I wouldn't call Eddie Bauers rare in my area...there's quite a few I know of running around. And if you want a 300 I6 in one, it shouldn't be too hard to find one. I've heard that back then, maybe it was only 1996, that Ford offered some rebate if you ordered an Eddie Bauer with the 300 and a 5 speed. I sure see quite a few equipped that way, so there must be some truth to it.
I'd love to someday make an Eddie Bauer F-250 or F-350. With the correct options all it would need is the interior trim pieces, the lower accent two-tone paint, factory cab steps, and the decals.
you dont need a newer vehicle for a daily driver. the old dent sides are great daily drivers, especially when you get one thats been taken care of, like the one above. personally, (and i may be a bit paranoid) id rather drive an older truck that doesnt have a computer, because, IF there is ever a nuclear war, a nuke will give off an EMP (electromagnetic pulse) that will wipe out any and all computers. so when all your new cars (and even my 91) are fried and useless, ill still be cruisin around in my 76 f100 (probably not cruisin actually, more like running for my life, but what ever.)
I think ford offerd the Eddie Bauer during those years as their top of the line model, then later it was the Lariat. No need for 2 nearly identical top of the line packages.
