I wouldn't call Eddie Bauers rare in my area...there's quite a few I know of running around. And if you want a 300 I6 in one, it shouldn't be too hard to find one. I've heard that back then, maybe it was only 1996, that Ford offered some rebate if you ordered an Eddie Bauer with the 300 and a 5 speed. I sure see quite a few equipped that way, so there must be some truth to it.
I see many 95 and 96 Eddies running around here... most are I6 5 speeds with the occasional automatic.
I just about bought a 96 Eddie with an I6 5 speed... reg cab shortbed too... it was hard to talk myself out of it since I don't need to be spending that kind of money at the moment... would rather fix up my current truck
It sounds like there are alot more EB F150s out there then I thought. I dont see many out here in New Hampshire/ Maine area fo some reason. Ive seen alot more of the broncos here as well. Is there anything in the ford option line that would be more rare than others, Leather seats or anything like that. Or is there anything that is highly sought after.
If you can tell I am new to the f150 world, Im a recent converted Che*y fan. Any halp making ths transition would be great.

Being from Maine myself, I can tell you that most New Englanders are very conservative by nature. Eddies may be hard to find up north. You may have better luck broadening your search for the Eddie that you want.
I personally think that an '80-96 Flareside is a fantastic show piece. I had an '84 flareside and if I had half a brain, I'd still have it.
personally, (and i may be a bit paranoid) id rather drive an older truck that doesnt have a computer, because, IF there is ever a nuclear war, a nuke will give off an EMP (electromagnetic pulse) that will wipe out any and all computers. so when all your new cars (and even my 91) are fried and useless, ill still be cruisin around in my 76 f100 (probably not cruisin actually, more like running for my life, but what ever.)
Unless you are running a points ignition, wouldn't your stock Duraspark ignition module would be fried too?
you dont need a newer vehicle for a daily driver. the old dent sides are great daily drivers, especially when you get one thats been taken care of, like the one above. personally, (and i may be a bit paranoid) id rather drive an older truck that doesnt have a computer, because, IF there is ever a nuclear war, a nuke will give off an EMP (electromagnetic pulse) that will wipe out any and all computers. so when all your new cars (and even my 91) are fried and useless, ill still be cruisin around in my 76 f100 (probably not cruisin actually, more like running for my life, but what ever.)
the truck running would be the least of your worries.
this is the kind of logic that elected that moron bush.
I thought they started offering the eddie bauer package in 94. My dad bought the '96 that I have now new, still have the window sticker and build sheets. Mine is a white ext. cab 4x4 with the off-road package. Haven't ever seen one that has an option mine doesn't. It also came with a factory cd and factory amp which kinda made installing my new radio a pita.

Any transistored piece of electronics with power applied to it would be fried in the EMP of a nuclear blast. Though what it has to do with the eddie bauer vs the lariat I have no idea.
Definitely go for an EB if you're looking for something collectible. I've got a 91 XLT Lariat and the interior is in great shape. The thing about the Lariat package is that it's not really an impressive one to begin with though. Maybe some people are drawn in by the total lack of cup holders or the allure of plastic that looks like wood...but definitely isn't.
Until the dreaded day of the neuclear blast that wips out all the cars on the road (with exception of the few still running on points) I suppose I will be happy to ride around in style with the relibility and advantages of an EFI engine.
What shall we discuss next......maybe the appropriate vehicle in the event of a zombi attack? lol ....just kidding.
The off road package sounds cool, that doubled with the EB is even better.
Id still like to find something that shows everything that came with each package. Everything from color combos, interior options, two tone options, this info has to be out there just how to find it.....
I just rememberd a Patriots ed. here in New England. Did every region have their local football team ed. in an F150? Was there a Broncos ed.? Or a Sea Hawks ed.?
It doesn't seem like anybody fully answered the question of when EB's came out,or why there was no Lariat from 92-96,so i'll answer it myself.
EB's came out in 95 for the F-Series,however there were EB Broncos in the 87-91 body style, although I don't know when they started. The EB colors I see on the F-Series are Black,Red,Dark Blue,White, and Green. All had gold lower two tone stripes that ran down the bottom side of the truck.Down here in the south I see alot of 351W powered EB's.I know a kid personally who has a 96 EB 4x4 with a 351.It's currently for sale. The kid takes REAL good care of it and only puts the best parts on it.
As for Lariats, they were introduced in 1985,and I believe were only available as XLT Lariats. My dad personally has an 87 F150 XLT Lariat. They were the top of the line trucks and most were heavily optioned. My dad's has all the options except for power. There's pics in my albums if ya'll wanna see it.The truck was ordered with maual lock and windows.Lariats were dropped in 92 for the new body style, and the top of the line styled F150 from 1992-1994 was just an XLT.

Hope this helps for future reference.
My '88 is an XLT Lariat. It's not all that heavily optioned. It's missing the pw, pl, AT. Ford built a large variety of option packages over the years that fit into the XLT Lariat scheme.
