stalling

my 95 f250 351 started going high idle to low idle and sometimes stalls. i checked for vacume leaks and cant find any. any ideas

You could check the Idle Air Control valve. May need cleaned or replaced. Go to fordfuelinjection.com for instructions on how to do it.

i will give that a shot. carb cleaner good for it or is it too harsh

you can use carb cleaner, but its more of a temp. fix... cleaned mine three weeks ago, ran good for a while, then replaced it this past monday. advanced auto parts had one for about forty bucks. how long since the last tune up? fuel filter good? a partial clog in the fuel filter could possibly cause this issue also.
