Im looking to put some longtube headers on my truck but the ones im looking at say they will only fit automatics with column shifters. Whats the deal? Why wouldnt they fit with a zf?
The clutch linkage may get in the way. Fittings for the EGR and oxy sensor will have to be added, don't know of any longtubes that have these built in.
Only problem i had was that my motor mounts were junk, and had the engine sitting so low, the headers were hitting the frame and driveshaft. Got new motormounts, and everything fits up perfectly.
they hit the frame and driveshaft initially, but that was because my motor mounts were gone, the engine was sitting WAY low and to the left. put new mounts in and all fits good now.
Temporarally mount the passenger side header with a couple bolts and mark a spot on the front tube for the EGR fitting. I used a 5.0 tube on the old headers I had simply because I didn't have a 5.8 tube, and in that case it fit nicely on top of the second tube...
