longtubes and 5 speed?

Im looking to put some longtube headers on my truck but the ones im looking at say they will only fit automatics with column shifters. Whats the deal? Why wouldnt they fit with a zf?

anyone? Ive looked at pictures of automatics with longtubes and i dodnt see that much different between mine.

also how did you guys hook up the egr and oxygen sensor?

The clutch linkage may get in the way. Fittings for the EGR and oxy sensor will have to be added, don't know of any longtubes that have these built in.

Heres some pics:





Only problem i had was that my motor mounts were junk, and had the engine sitting so low, the headers were hitting the frame and driveshaft. Got new motormounts, and everything fits up perfectly.

ok cool, that gives me another option. So no problems with clearance Blue Rebel?

I have found some header reducers with o2 sensor bungs in them, hopefully those will work for my setup.

Im still wondering where on the header to put a bung for the egr. Anyone have some pictures or a good description?

they hit the frame and driveshaft initially, but that was because my motor mounts were gone, the engine was sitting WAY low and to the left. put new mounts in and all fits good now.

Temporarally mount the passenger side header with a couple bolts and mark a spot on the front tube for the EGR fitting. I used a 5.0 tube on the old headers I had simply because I didn't have a 5.8 tube, and in that case it fit nicely on top of the second tube...

My headers dump in a weird spot but I'm just going to flex tube around to where I need to go.
As for 02 bungs, just weld one into the collector, that's the best place for them.

Do you mean where do you need to route the smog tube to that usually goes into the exhaust?
