It should come out of REGEN immediately at idle with the transmission out of gear. Unless I read DGs post wrong he was expecting it to do so, rather than complete a REGEN cycle.
I was never told that you had to be driving for it to complete. Just told don't turn engine off till it completes regen cycle. The Edge with Attitude helped with regen. It is the one that mounts on the corner of the dash. you can update it on the go.
Did you remove the program prior to taking it in? Or were they just able to detect it?
Do you know what code is popping up with the CEL?
Unfortunately, the manual clearly states that programmers void the warranty. If the dealer flagged your VIN you are toast. If they didnt flag your VIN then you can try to contact other dealers that are more mod friendly and possibly willing to repair it. If the VIN is flagged though no dealer can get paid for the warranty work so no one will even try it.
No, the programmer I have is mounted on dash and wired in.
The code it is giving ( P2002)

If you can complete a REGEN sitting idling, you don't have the latest flash. Either that or you're not being told everything. With the 08B07 CSP update, this engine will not go to REGEN unless the truck is being driven. It will then come out of REGEN when the transmission is placed in neutral or park on the Torqshift. I'm not sure what cancels REGEN on a manual, but do know it will no longer sit in your yard idling in the REGEN mode if the software is up to date.
If you go in to the dealer with the tuner still installed there is a 99% chance the warranty is voided. Again, get an OASIS done to see if the VIN is flagged.
The regen stops under 30 mph according to what my manual says so I just assumed its measured from the speed sensor. If so that would work on the manual trans as well. Just my assumption.

When it was working, if you put it in park and took your foot off the break pedel the engine would rev up to around 14-16 hundred rpm. Press the break pedel an engine would idle back to normal.

So this truck is not running the lastest version of PCM calibration. Suggest you get it reflashed.

That's not the way mine operates. I have the 08B07 CSP. Mine will not come out of REGEN, once it's in it, until either the cycle is complete or the transmission is shifted to neutral or park. But then, I think I've said that before on this forum

Yep! That's the way mine was, until the 08B07 CSP. As Senix said, you don't have the latest flash.
I would request an oasis to see if you vin has been flagged as Caprang indicated. Then remove the programmer and see if another dealer will help you out.
OASIS=On-Line Automotive Service Information System. Basically its a report used by Ford that is associated with your VIN. It displays any work done at any dealer in the country, warranty start date, any recalls/TSB's, etc, etc. If the dealer flagged your VIN then every dealer in the country that types in your VIN will see a warning message that your warranty is void for XXX reason.
I took my job 3 in for 10,0000 service and I guess the re-flash. I've previously have had no problems with my truck. Now my truck is re-gening every 50 miles or so and not turning off. The truck otherwise seems to be running fine, no idiot lights, however my milage is taking a hit due to constant regens The dealer so far is stroking me and not being too helpful. We'll see...
We got the letter a couple of months ago and just dropped the truck off today at the dealer. Problem is we lost the letter and the dealer doesn't know what I'm talking about. Is '08B07 CSP' the latest reflash?
