After a 5 year build, I'm finally putting my truck back together and I can't remember how it came apart. There isn't a single picture in any of my truck magazines that show where the fenders meet the radiator header panel.
Can anyone tell me which goes on top of the other?
I think AXracer had a good posting on how to put a front clip back together. Ought to be able o turn something up by doing a search as the subject comes up every so often.
I think the core support goes on first and everything else attaches to it (at least the 48-52 trucks are that way). Keep everything kind of loose until its all together so you can move things around as needed.
Radiator panel on top of the fenders. As Bobby stated, leave it all loose. Assuming your cab is level and sitting on good mounts. Adjust the hood to the cab first, then the fenders to the hood and cab. Any other order will result in a never ending circle around your truck. Learned that the hard way a few years back.
I was hoping you two were still here. I plan to stick around. The 53 is still rollin . I suppose I should post some updated PICs soon. I'll charge up the camera and get on that.
Sorry Svooom, didn't mean to jack your thread. We'll be here for you when the tears start flowing. Just kidding ... well sorta ... front clip assembly whupped me for awhile.
Fenders;
Welcome back. One of the first posts I made was about back spacing, and you enlightened me with your technical aplomb.. Good to see you here again !
Hey 'Fenders!
Good to see you back on FTE. I assume this means you are back where the tall corn grows?
Now if we can just find George and Kai... Himmel drops by on occasion and John still tries to ride herd but I think the grandson is keeping him busy. Lots of new folks around so pull up a keyboard and get after it!
Anyway, good to have you back!
Well I have a 48 F1 pic of what yer talking about, but that would mean you'd have to get yerself a nice looking smiley toothin' truck! And wait another 5 years.
DeWayne, it's great to see ya hanging around again.
