You can have both and have a bed the size of a sports trac
haha yea screw that. a short bed is barely enough room now! i was thinking about fabbing up a box that wraps around them and the door part opens inbetween the stacks. that might work.

Im thinking something like this with the hinged lid turned the other way and the cut out to go over the T pipes
Very clean. I dig those top clamps, may have to go get a set.
I know it's already crossed your mind, but since it just crossed mine. How is the clearance going to be with the fiver hitched. Do you still have enough room behind the cab to bend her around in a tight campsite?

I have a sliding hitch, so, I think I will be O.K., two more weeks till the first camping trip, and we'll see.
Not having a fiver, the main reason it crossed my mind is one of our contractors pulled onto the site the other day with his back window cracked on the drivers side.
He didn't check his new trailers clearance before pulling it to work. Nothing like a duct taped back window to make your truck look bad.
Those look great. Just did mine too. If I had either a silver or charcoal colored truck (my favorite vehicle colors) I would no doubt had my stacks black too. Again they look great...

dang thats a good idea. whats the width on that box, would it fit between the stacks? a guess the only hard part would be switching the handle to the back. that might be tricky.
The stacks look great! I have seen them on many a diesel but is there any main performance incentive for this over a 4 or 5 inch exhaust out the back?
Either way it looks great and the install looks very clean as well.
By the way Eric, when I was looking for my truck in the past few weeks I did run into one or two that had stacks and a tool box in it. I didn't get part numbers or anything, but it should be possibly without fabbing anything up I would think.

actually there is a box that is made that way, one came on the utility trailer that I have. I just didnt feel like searching for it last night. The box is made to hang on the front rail of the utility trailer over the tongue. It is a steel box that had been beat up pretty bad, so it was junked awhile back.

I dont think there is any performance difference in them, I mean its just a 4" system, with 5" tips, and about the same amount of bends that single rear exit system would have.
But the sound is definatley better, there is no flutter, its just a deep growl.
