IPod Touch

Hey guys. My GF just bought me an IPod Touch last night. I hooked it to her computer to charge it with the USB charger thingy. Her computer recognized it. I just tried plugging it into my computer and the computer nor itunes recognizes it. Any ideas???
Thanks in advance, Aaron.

When you plugged it into your pc did you install itunes first??
Most USB devices need the software installed first before connecting the device..

If you didn't then it should be in device manager as an error..

Try uninstalling everything then reinstall Itunes..

Then connect the Ipod..

If you're using a front mounted USB port, try switching to one in the back.

The risers that "convienience" ports use aren't always the greatest quality, and if you swap perhipherals often, they wear out.

Windows should be seeing it, regardless of the software installed. Device Mangler should be aware that a new input/mulitmedia device is present. Windows won't know what to do with it, but it should be aware that it exists.

That said, it is typically best to install the required software beforehand. That means iTunes.
