I am strongly considering switching to Biodiesel (diluted) for lubricity. I understand that, if too strong of a mixture is used, it may dislodge gunk in the system and clog the fuel filters.
I’m thinking of installing a fuel pressure gauge that will monitor the pressure and, when it gets down to 45 lbs under a load, then change filters.
I’ve checked a couple of sites such as Scantool but I understand that Ford does not have a factory fuel pressure sensor. So much for software. That would have been neat since I really only have to check it occasionally, not monitor continually while driving.
I’m looking at Auto Meter electric pressure gauge. My question is where do I install the sending unit?
Jim this is a good time for a regulated return fuel system.If that is not in the budget then the return line to the tank is a good place though without a cross over line at the back of the heads you will have no idea what the pressure is at that point in the rails.Page 28: Fuel Supply System
