Tire Pressure - can you access the info?
The last couple of GM's that I've had, you can get a live reading on each tire pressure through the Driver Information Center. OnStar adds an option to email it to you and you can also get live readings with the app on your phone (paid subscription for that).
I'm only finding a "low tire" option on the Ford, nothing that shows me which tire nor what the pressure is currently.
Presuming that's not a factory option (hope they add it in the future), is there a monitor out there that can read the factory sensors and give you current pressure?
I have a system for our 5th wheel and there are enough "slots" left on the monitor that I can add some more sending units to cover the truck, but that means installing more stuff in the wheels or adding the valve stem sensors.
Was very nice to touch a button and see if any adjustments were needed before big trip vs walking around with the manual gauge.

Any thoughts appreciated.
I think I'll follow this one. I've had a pesky "Tire Pressure Sensor Fault" light popping up in my truck for months. Doesn't seem to matter that the tire pressure has been adjusted. Sometimes it disappears when the key is turned off and the truck is restarted, sometimes it doesn't.
I'd also be interested in a more accurate pressure, not just the "low" message.
I do know that the pressure threshold for front and for rear TPMS can be changed with the SCT device that my 5 Star Tunes are on, but other than that I don't think much can be done.
Ford doesn't tell you which tire is low. I find that stupid. Also If you have the intermittent lite on the dash than that needs to be fixed at the dealer. You may be able to drop the air by 10 pounds in the back without setting the light. You cant get live updates on your phone as to the tire pressure as far as I know. i sure wish i could tell how much air is in the tires without using a tire gauge every day.
Amazing how much info is out there on this subject but no answers.
Thus far it looks like the information being sent is not encrypted, so if you have a monitor, you could capture the information. I see lots of diagnostic tools that work with TPMS, but nothing that shows it can read the values (maybe they do, maybe they don't).
Ford runs at 315Mhz from what I've found, in theory an aftermarket system that runs at the same frequency would work with them.
I've reached out to the TPMS manufacturer that I use on the 5th wheel, but not heard back. I'm hoping they just happen to be able to read the Ford units (doubtful). It's looking like I will add their sensors to my truck wheels and use the monitor I already have from them (has capacity for plenty more wheels to monitor).
I bought the $80 tool off of Amazon to reset them yourself. Its a little pricey but it works. Put the vehicle in re-learn mode (you can find the procedure in your manual or online) go to all four sensors with the tool and the vehicle will re-learn to the sensors. Has worked on all types of different vehicles with no problem for me. Everytime i swap from summer to winter rims on my '11 SD it works no problem. I even used it succesfully on my wifes' Hyundai SUV.
Napa also sells one made by Echlin thats $300+ . It will read the sensors and tell you the PSI in the tire. The Echlin tool though is designed to skip the re-learn procedure though. It is only for re-programming. You can save the data from the sensors and upload the info onto a new sensor eliminating re-learn. Its a time saver if you own a shop but most shade tree guys just want the sensor to re-learn. There is a difference between re-learn and reprogram. Just keep that in mind if you buy a tool

I'm only looking for live reading (monitor) when operating the vehicle or at least when initially starting the vehicle.
Don't care about relearn or reprogram. Owners manual describes the tool-less relearn procedure, sounds time consuming and a tool to skip that process makes sense.
There is no way to get tire pressure readings from your truck in stock form. Only an idiot light if it gets low.
You can however add an OBDII Bluetooth adapter and an Android app called Torque Pro. It has the ability to show you real time pressure readings. I think there is a similar app for Apple too. Don't recall what it's called though.
will the torque pro app give me that info on a 2012 6.2?
I don't know for sure, but the app itself IS NOT 6.7 specific. It works on thousands of cars, makes, and models.... and has generic Ford PIDS built in too.
If no one else gets you and answer, I can try it on my wife's Escape tonight and see if it reads her TPMS.
