I have heard rumors and stories about the famed "UPS head", but have been told that it is a myth. This head in the classified section looks "too good to be true". Let's assume for a moment that Ford made a special cross flow head for the 300 for some special application. If it was for UPS trucks, I can't believe that they would put a ton of effort into high flow tricks like D shaped ports. It it was made for racing, I can't believe it ended up in UPS trucks.

Is this thing for real?
So my truck isn't a real truck because it's a short bed?
I thought it was interesting that the part number on the head was F3TE 6049 EB.
That means it was designed in '93, shortly before they stopped putting them in their trucks. Think maybe they were thinking of creating a performance version before they quit?
My bronco has a bed. I took the rear bench seat out and put down a thick foam camping pad back there. I slept in it all last summer. So there, my bronco has a bed
It says that you are on the bottom of the food chain.
I guess my '94 Ranger was in that class too, although it was probably the best danged vehicle I ever owned.
lol, I guess so.
Although, it works out for me, I don't need a bed. I'd never use it. A rear seat and a shell on the other hand...I'm an adventurer/camper, so I guess it is a toy!
Number 2 is basically just for show, but it is the coolest damn thing you've ever seen.
An old Ford truck hauling an ancient Ford car on it's back.
I'm suspicious that Ford designed the 8' box for this purpose.
Probably not, but it's still cool.
You know, it's kinda funny. I used to haul 4x8 plywood in a '67 F-100 stepside all the time (not the '67 I owned, that one was a long bed) with no issues. Then again, I learned to strap down (and in) my loads. Heck, even the Nissan Hardbody I had would haul what I needed it to haul. I would stack the plywood above the wheel well humps and use the underneath for the 2x4s, 4x4s, 1x4s, etc. and strap it all down. Never lost a load of lumber, although on one occasion, I lost a box-spring mattress because I didn't use rope.... and didn't cinch down the bungees properly... and the people who wanted me to move the load were 'in a hurry'.

There you go.
I can fit plywood in my truck perfectly. No issues. I want my next truck to be a long bed. I just don't see my truck as a "toy" though. She's closer to a tank.
