I have an 08 f-250 with the 5.4 in it. And when I download the tune it throws a code on my truck after 50 miles of driving. I have talked to SCT and tried to fix the problem but they can't. They did update my tuner to see if that would fix it but it didn't. They told me I need a custom tune for my truck. They try to do it on my computer but for some reason they cannot do it. It is blocking them from doing it. So what should I do now. Right now I'm out 350 dollars or so.
I assume that you have the SCT X3 tuner... contact the seller to see if you can provide the required custom tunes (which are much better than the canned tunes). You can contact Mike at 5 Star Tuning about acquiring these custom tunes if the seller doesn't offer these services.

Custom tunes aren't expensive and can be emailed to you so that you can download them to the tuner. It would be the easiest and probably the cheapest solution.
Do you think I should SCT pay for the custom tune since they can't figure out why it is throwing that code?
Yes! SCT shouldn't release a product (tune) on the market if they can't support it. Ask them if you can get the custom tune from a SCT dealer and send a credit to the SCT dealer for the custom tunes.
