I need some help. Today i tried to tow for the first time. I had a small load of about 2500lbs. I plugged the trailer up and no lights. I ended up trying to plug in trying each type connection but no luck. I went inside the truck and tried the built in TBC but the red trailer was lite up and i could never get it to turn green. By reading the manual it looks like the truck thinks theres no connection until the tralier picture on the controller turns green. Any ideas of why its not working? I tried it on my other truck and the brakes worked fine. Any thoughts?
I have never had any issues with my tow command system. Even with a blown fuse or two I still get the green light on the brake controller.
Some other guys have posted that they have had to get replacement components and that there was a TSB about defective tow command systems. You should be able to find out more. Hopefully you are still under the bumper to bumper warranty.
Yeah im still under warrenty so no issue there. I don't get a fault or anything just no green trailer showing connection. I hope they don't have to tear my truck appart to rewire it.
Is it the old type of trailer plug?? If it is check the big fuse for the trailer under the hood. I blew this once trying to hook up at night before I installed my rear spot light because I had the connector upside down. I couldn't get the trailer controller or anything to work until I replaced it.
